Maynard, MA, April 12, 2005 -- SANBlaze Technology, Inc., a pioneer in target emulation technologies, today announced a SAS (serial attached SCSI) version of its VirtuaLUN Target Emulation System. VirtuaLUN provides a virtual, configurable environment for testing Fibre Channel and SAS infrastructure devices at a fraction of the cost of deploying physical disk arrays. An 8 port version is available today and will be showcased at Storage Networking World, April 12- 15, in Phoenix Arizona.

"As an industry leader in the SAN Target Emulation market, our customers asked us to deliver the same functionality that we've provided for Fibre Channel emulation for SAS," said Steve Munroe, President of SANBlaze Technology. " Today we are delivering that product.

"The system is capable of emulating as many as 480 LUNs at a fraction of the cost of physical disks, and can be configured with 8 or 16 SAS ports or phy's running at 1.5 or 3 Gbps. Each port can be configured to present 1 - 30 virtual "disks" of configurable size and health, enabling test engineers to simulate a wide variety of scenarios and error conditions.

The VirtuaLUN features an easy-to-use, web-based interface enabling configuration, re-configuration, error injection, and monitoring from a remote system. It also features an extensive Command Line Interface, allowing intricate scripting capabilities. VirtuaLUN occupies a 1U rack space, delivering an optimized test environment in a compact footprint.

Availability The 8 port SAS VirtuaLUN is available immediately from SANBlaze Technology. A 16 port version will be available mid summer, 2005.
