Anue Systems Ships GEM 3.1 Network Emulator
Enables Customers to Capture/Replay Network Traffic at Full Line
Rate
RENO, NV--(Marketwire - November 13, 2007) - Anue
Systems, Inc., the global leader in Network
Emulation, has released version 3.1 of its GEM Network Emulator at
Super Computing 07 today in Reno, Nevada. The 3.1 upgrade includes several
enhancements, including the unique capability to Capture and Replay network
traffic in-line at full line rates up to 1 Gigabit per second.
The Capture/Replay functions can be automatically triggered by selected
events or payload content, and can be performed on the entire data flow
or selectively filtered network traffic. GEM 3.1's Capture/Replay capability
is particularly useful for companies evaluating or deploying WAN Acceleration
systems, or complex Enterprise environments with network applications,
IPTV, video conferencing and/or VoIP.
"The GEM Network
Emulator is the only system available which can deliver the performance
and memory depth we need for our lab testing," said Dr. Paul Langner,
Director of Systems and Validation Engineering at Aquantia. "The
new Capture/Replay functions provide the ability to record and replay
network traffic in real-time at full speed -- significantly enhancing
network troubleshooting and testing productivity."
GEM 3.1 also includes a new Accumulation and Burst capability which allows
testers to emulate the data flow irregularities resulting from router
buffering. Additional GEM 3.1 features include improved support for international
standards network models (TIA-921 and ITU-T G.1050), enhancements to Router
Mode (to emulate complex multi-node networks), and improvements to the
GEM graphical user interface.
"Network emulators are indispensable tools for enterprise companies
testing WAN applications, as well as network equipment manufacturers and
service providers," said Jessy Cavazos, Frost & Sullivan Industry
Manager. "GEM 3.1 with Capture/Replay is an important advancement
in pre-deployment network application performance testing, and reinforces
Anue Systems' market position in network test equipment."
Anue Systems Network Emulators are used in network test labs to recreate
the effects of real-world network impairments. Typical uses include pre-deployment
testing of WAN acceleration solutions, voice & video applications,
disaster recovery plans and server migration scenarios. Anue Systems Network
Emulators introduce network delays, bandwidth constraints, packet and
bit errors, and other network impairments during network application performance
testing and system validation -- enabling customers to ensure their applications,
systems and services will perform effectively when deployed on production
networks.
