Anue Systems Enables NextGen Satellite Innovations
Emulators are used to model a high speed satellite communications network
Austin, TX – February 1, 2007 – Anue Systems, the performance
leader in network delay and impairment emulation, was an enabler for recent
advances in satellite communications, including an initiative sponsored
by the U.S. military to achieve protected, mobile, broadband, IP-based
connectivity to strategic and tactical users worldwide.
The goal of this program is to integrate the existing satellite communications
network with a next-generation system to support intelligence, surveillance
and reconnaissance (ISR) operations not possible today. The new system
will combine data from multiple ISR platforms to establish a common view
of a situation that is available to all involved with an operation, including
ground, sea, and air troops, on-site command and control centers, and
decision-makers in the U.S.
Recent tests demonstrated interoperability with a government reference
ground terminal, as well as the ability to integrate payloads to create
a unified situational view from multiple sources. In each of these tests,
Anue solutions were used to emulate the eventual production network environment
with latency, bit errors and frequency shifts.
“Anue Systems is proud to be a part of this satellite defense initiative,”
said Hemi Thaker, President and CEO of Anue. “We developed a Doppler
shift capability especially for this type of application. It can shift
a live signal in increments as small as one part per million to emulate
the movement of satellites relative to each other and to ground stations.
Combine that with the world’s only line-rate 10-gigabit network
emulator and our ability to reproduce the high delay, up to a second or
more, found in satellite networks and you have the only system capable
of emulating a high-speed satellite network, which is why they’ve
been using Anue System’s 10 gigabit network emulators in this project
since 2004.”
About Anue Systems, Inc.
Anue Network Emulators increase time to market of new applications, products
and services by bringing real world network conditions to the test lab.
Anue’s hardware based emulator provides maximum precision and repeatability
as well as full line rate performance thus increasing confidence of the
final deployed solution. Anue customers include major network equipment
manufacturers, telecom providers, government contractors, research institutions
and Fortune 500 companies. Anue Emulators operate at full line rate up
to 11.3Gbps while supporting multiple protocols, including IP, Ethernet,
Fibre Channel, SONET/SDH, OTN, and CPRI. Based in Austin TX, Anue Systems
has built a world-class team with expertise in network testing and performance
