ProtocolTools.com Offers Free Evaluation on Network Emulators,
Analyzers, Disk Emulation and Physical Layer Switch Units for Limited
Time
Gillaspy Associates, a leading provider of protocol analysis, connectivity
and test instrumentation is accepting registrations for free evaluation
units on its website from March 28th through April 18th. Evaluations include:
protocol analyzers, network delay and impairment emulators and lab automation
with physical layer switches.
Somis, CA (PRWeb) March 28, 2007 -- Gillaspy Associates is now taking
registrations on ProtocolTools.com/eval
for free evaluation units* for the latest test and connectivity products.
Evaluations include: Anue Systems Network Delay Emulators for Fibre Channel,
Gigabit Ethernet and SONET, as well as Finisar's Xgig Fibre Channel, Gigabit
Ethernet, SAS, SATA, Analyzer, Traffic Generator and Bit Error Rate Tester
Systems. Also the newest Hard Disk Emulators/Initiators from SANBlaze
and Curtiss Wright's Physical Layers Switches for Lab Automation.
Network Delay Emulation
Network Emulators are used in network testing to introduce network latency,
network delay variation (jitter), packet errors, bit errors and other
network impairments prior to deployment. These Network Emulators use high-speed
hardware to provide better performance, precision and accuracy than software-based
network simulators. Providing full line rates up to 11.3 Gbps.
These Network Emulators offer comprehensive support for: WAN testing,
Ethernet/IP testing, SONET/SDH testing, Circuit Emulation, Fibre Channel
testing, VoIP network testing, Triple Play testing, Satellite Communications
testing, Network QoS and Business Continuity. These Network Emulators
enable organizations to conduct realistic and repeatable network applications
testing in the laboratory environment, providing validation and confidence
that these network applications will perform effectively on the production
network. Our customers benefit from reduced risk, higher quality, lower
costs and faster time-to-market for their network applications, services
and device. More information at http://www.protocoltools.com/products/anue
Hard Disk Emulators and Initiators
Target emulation systems for Fibre Channel and SAS provide a virtual,
extremely cost-efficient configurable environment for SAN product development,
testing and QA. The systems reduce the need to deploy large farms of physical
"scratch" disks or tapes, providing port density, high performance,
non-volatile media at a fraction of the cost of physical disks or tapes.
The Initiator Emulator for Fibre Channel and SAS provides simulation of
a single to hundreds of Initiator ports. The Initiator product operates
on our existing target emulation systems, making it easy to integrate
into existing environments. The software runs standalone or in conjunction
with our Target Emulation software for an end-to-end solution. The Initiator
Emulator provides unparalleled advantages over the real thing: smaller
footprint, lower power consumption, centralized management and control
and lower cost of ownership. Features such as read/write/compare testing,
error injection and a custom command builder provide the ideal environment
in which to simulate Initiator test cases via script or an easy to use
web interface. The patent pending "Blazter Mode" allows for
all ports to run at full line rate. More information at http://www.protocoltools.com/products/sanblaze
Protocol Analyzer, Traffic Generator, Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT)
Xgig® is a powerful protocol analysis tool for Fibre Channel, Gigabit
Ethernet and SAS/SATA links operating at different data rates. The flexible
features of Xgig® accelerate development and SAN deployment. The protocol
analyzer tool captures details about high-speed traffic and quickly analyzes
individual protocols. Xgig Expert software provides a robust set of debugging
and analysis tools for analyzing traces. The Xgig employs universal chassis
and blade hardware architecture. By inserting various blades, Xgig®
becomes a multi-protocol, multi-function, and multi-speed tool.
Currently available Xgig applications are the protocol analyzer, traffic
generation, and BERT, all available with no hardware changes. The suite
of applications includes TraceControl, TraceView, Performance Monitor,
and Expert: TraceControl captures traces with standard and customized
trigger sets. Xgig has the most extensive trigger library in the market,
and is able to capture and characterize the most difficult problems. TraceView
is a decoding program that enables the user to view traces in detail,
providing thorough DWORD interpretation and SAN topology as well as a
traffic histogram. Performance Monitor provides real-time traffic status.
PerformanceMonitor views provide quick snapshots of the current running
state of the links being analyzed, as well as total statistics over time.
Expert provides a unique and robust set of error detection and analysis
capabilities. Expert automatically sorts through millions of events to
identify performance, upper-layer protocol, and logical and physical layer
issues. More information at http://protocoltools.com/products/finisar/xgiganalyzer
Physical Layer Switch
From the originators of the Physical Layer Switch with over 9 years of
experience, the GLX4000* series features our 4th Generation non-blocking,
multi-protocol physical layer switches allowing any input to connect to
any output. The GLX4000 is capable of switching any digital signal up
to 4.25 Gb/s with any of its 288 ports providing 2.5 Tb/s switching capacity
-- all in a compact 8U chassis. GLX4000 switches are scalable by accepting
up to six modular port cards with forty-eight (48) ports per card.
Two port card versions are available with Small Form-Factor Pluggable
(SFP) transceivers - non-retimed and retimed. Each SFP transceiver is
hot-swappable and provides the physical ports for various media. Different
types of SFP transceivers support a variety of network configurations.
Another port card version accepts Firewire (1394B) signals directly at
up to 1600 Mb/s. Another port card accepts XFP transceivers for 10 Gb/s
protocols. Features: Multi-protocol, multi-rate support, Point-to-point
(full or half duplex), multicast (1 to many), and loop (with auto loop
feature) topologies, Non-blocking, any input port to any output port,
Hot swappable port cards, power supplies, fans, and transceivers (SFP),
Options for signal regeneration when cascading switches, Graphical User
Interface (GUI) and Command Line Interface (CLI), Supports unlimited GUI
and CLI (Telnet or SSH) sessions, Alias names for each port and groups
of ports. More information at http://protocoltools.com/products/curtisswright
