Extreme Protocol Solutions Announces Development System Version 7 Storage companies will find unparalleled value, power and ease of use in the latest Development System Solution.

Uxbridge, MA. (July, 7 2007) -- Extreme Protocol Solutions, the leading supplier of storage test solutions is pleased to announce the upcoming July release of the Extreme Development System version 7. EPS is committed to providing the storage industry with the most full-featured toolset available today and has responded to the need for cost-effective cross-platform development with the release of version 7.

"With new products added to the Development System and more functionality than ever before, this is easily the biggest release in our company's history." said Roger Gagnon, President and CEO of Extreme Protocol Solutions. "Our customers can now expect cross-platform (Windows, Linux, Solaris) support for all protocols (SAS, SATA, SCSI, iSCSI, ATA, and Fibre Channel) to be included in every Development System purchase without any price increase. With new levels of test and analysis automation our customers can improve their test processes, increase reliability, verify interoperability and decrease their time to market."

New additions to Version 7 of the Development System include:

Extreme Manufacturing API - Allows the user to write C programs or DLLs to seamlessly integrate protocol testing into the current test process. The API includes all SCSI-2 and SCSI-3 commands as well as all ATA 7 and SAS Commands in easy to use functions with access to all command bytes/registers for maximum power and flexibility.

CommandGen - Allows the user to create SCSI and ATA Commands based on field and bit values, or look them up from a base set of over 600 commands to find information and descriptions of their fields and automatically determine their values. Extreme SCSI and Scriptgen use the CommandGen files and interface to configure SCSI/ATA/SAS commands and modify data buffers. This allows maximum power while retaining an intuitive interface.

A free lite version, called CommandGuide, includes the most commonly used commands as a reference and command lookup tool and will be available for free download at www.extremeprotocol.com and elsewhere. "We think that it will be useful for engineers to look up commands to determine the field and bit values, along with extensive descriptions of what these values represent. In the past, the only way to interpret a command was by comparing bits to the spec or by buying expensive hardware that interpreted the commands for you. For people that need more commands, and ways to modify their values, the full-featured version is available within Development System Version 7.", said Brent Burkholder, V.P of Engineering

Extreme Field - Extreme Field and Extreme Qualification have been merged into a single powerful package that is now included in Development System Version 7! The simplified interface is very easy to use for even novices. Accepted by the industry as the premier mass disk-wiping tool, this product conforms to various military grade wiping procedures. Extreme Field also includes an easy to use set of utilities for comprehensive Disk Qualification, multithreaded Disk Duplication, automated Microcode Update, Performance Benchmarking, Media Viewing, and much more.

"Extreme Development System 7 represents a giant step forward by including several new tools and features that really enhance the capabilities of the package and, since each license can now be used to test many different types of storage on several different platforms, it's much more cost effective. Previously a separate license would be needed for each platform and protocol group. Our customers can now do the work with one license that would have required six licenses in the past", said Colin Carufel, VP of Operations. "With the ability to test on so many platforms and storage devices using a single license, our customers are guaranteed unsurpassed value with a feature set second to none in the industry."

Current customers that are under a support contract will receive all of these enhancements free of charge automatically.
