SUNNYVALE, CA, Apr 23, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ: FNSR), a global technology leader in fiber optic and test and measurement solutions for high-speed networks, today announced that it is shipping Xgig(R) Jammer 2.9, the industry's first 6 Gb/s SAS error injector used for high-performance testing of storage products. The Xgig(R) Jammer provides 6 Gb/s SAS protocol testing support to greatly accelerate interoperability and compliance testing by ensuring that storage products adhere to the protocol standards. This new product is integrated in to the powerful Xgig(R) unified platform which supports all high speed storage protocols including 8Gb/s Fibre Channel, 10Gb/s Ethernet and iSCSI as well as the emerging 6Gb/s SAS and SATA offerings.
