Fibre Channel Signal Delay
The FC SAN Emulator simulates delays and impairment (such as bit errors
and frame drops) for 1G, 2G, 4G and 10G Fibre Channel signals. This SAN
Emulator supports all standard Fibre Channel frame formats and functions
at 100% line rate without dropping any frames (regardless of frame size).
FC 1G & 2G functionality can be delivered in an M Series System, as
an MSFC (uni-directional) or MSFC-B (bi-directional) Network Emulator.
FC 1G, 2G, 4G and/or 10G functionality can be delivered in an H Series
System as an HSFC (uni-directional) or HSFC-B (bi-directional) Network
Emulator. FC SAN emulator capability can also be combined with other Anue
solutions (such as SONET/SDH Delay or Gigabit Ethernet delay) to create
multi-protocol "Combo" systems

DELAY
# Fully 10-bit transparent operation: delayed output is logically identical
to input signal
* No modification of transmitted signal: 10-bit code words maintained
throughout
* Running disparity is unchanged
* Inter Frame Gap (idle fill characters) unchanged
# Delay is adjustable up to 250 ms (50,000 km) in each direction in one
bit (470 ps) increments
FRAME DROP
# Generates Frame Loss - from every frame to one in every 64K frames or
at selected time intervals
* Dropped frames are replaced with idles or repeats of the last word prior
to the start of the packet
* Can drop frames deterministically, or according to a variety of pseudo
random sequences chosen by the user
BER
# Acts as a BER Tester, capable of injecting bit-errors from 10 -12 to
10 -2 error rates
* 1-bit, 32-bit contiguous or 32-bit user defined error pattern
* Error injection can be fixed or random; random distribution sequences
include Poisson, Uniform or Gaussian
* Errors injected into both frames and inter-frame gap
# Emulates loss of signal, loss of frame and/or squelch mode under user
or program control

max, 4xFC and 10xFC are 400ms. Also, an optional "Delay Doubler"
upgrade doubles the maximum delay time.2 850 nm multi-mode optics are
standard; 1310 nm single mode optics are optional
