Ethernet Network Emulators
Anue's 10/100/Gigabit Ethernet Network Emulators are ideal for testing
IP based networking solutions in a lab environment. GigE Network Emulators
can test the delay and impairments experienced by Ethernet signals across
MANs and WANs regardless of the underlying transport mechanism.
The Layer 2+ "GEL2" (Gigabit) and FEL2 (10/100) models have
a rich set of advanced delay and impairment features. GEL2 & FEL2
perform Ethernet frame reorder, duplication, jitter, modification, corruption,
etc. Frames can be selected for impairment based on a variety of Ethernet
(Layer 2) or IP (Layer 3) characteristics such as a particular VLAN tag
or source or destination address.
The Layer 1 "GE" model provides fewer features than GEL2 at
a lower price. GE simulates signal delays that occur during the transmission
of Gigabit Ethernet data over optical fiber. It also allows controlled
packet loss/error injection and simulates loss of signal (LOS) conditions.
GigE Network Simulators can be controlled by the user either locally using
the front panel, or remotely via an Ethernet connection. The included
software package allows remote control using either a Graphical User Interface,
or through TCL scripts, which allow for easy automation of common tasks.
A functional Anue System consists of a hardware platform and one or more
software loads. Ethernet Network Emulators exist on both Anue's "H"
Series and "M" Series Platforms. The "H" Series delays
and impairs one Gbps and 10 Gbps traffic; the "M" Series handles
10/100 and one Gbps data rates.
For 10/100 Copper emulation, Anue offers the FEL2. For Gigabit Ethernet,
there are two software loads available: GEL2 (available with both copper
and optical interfaces) and GE. There are also four ten Gigabit Ethernet
software loads: GE10W (WAN PHY), GE10L (LAN PHY), GE10LFD (LAN PHY w/255/238
FEC), and GE10LFO (LAN PHY w/OTU2 FEC).

* Up to 4 sec delay in each direction (at one Gbps data rates with "delay
doubler")
* Holds up to seven Software Loads

Delay and Impairment functionality on the same system. These "Combo"
Network Emulators make it easy to switch back and forth between different
features, data rates and protocols.
