PD192 – 10G SONET/SDH
Path Delay
The PD SONET/SDH Path Delay Network Emulator simulates path layer delays
and impairments that may be experienced by diversely routed transmission
of SONET/SDH signals. It also allows controlled error injection and simulates
loss of signal (LOS) and loss of frame (LOF) conditions.

Product Features
DELAY
# Emulates path delays that occur in SONET/SDH networks
* Can individually delay each path contained in OC-3/STM-1 (155 Mbit/s),
OC-12/STM-4 (622 Mbit/s), OC-48/STM-16 (2.488 Gbit/s) or OC-192/STM-64
(9.953 Gbit/s) signals
# Supports all valid sizes and combinations of contiguous
concatenation
* Fully supports Telcordia GR253/2000 Table 5.1 for payload concatenation
* For example, can differentially delay 192 separate STS-1 paths, or 16
separate STS-12c paths, or 32 STS-3c paths plus 96 STS-1 paths, etc.
# All defined and reserved overhead bytes are conveyed transparently,
except that
* B1/B2 are recalculated, H1/H2/H3 are adjusted (SS bits passed transparently)
# Received pointer adjustments are delayed by the same amount as the associated
SPE data
# Delayed paths are reassembled into an OC-3, OC-12, OC-48 or OC-192 signal
logically identical to the original
# Programmable Sonet/SDH Path Delays
* Absolute delay value programmable from 40 us to 320 ms.
* Differential delay value programmable from 0 to 319 ms (first to last
path).
* Delay values programmable in 154.32 ns increments (one SONET/SDH pointer
position)
* Path layer delay can be hitlessly/dynamically changed by forcing extra
pointer increment or decrement operations under user/program control.
Supports simultaneous and independent adjustment of all paths
BER
# Capable of injecting bit-errors from 10-15 to 10-2 error rates
* On individual paths or for the entire SONET frame
# Emulates AIS-P/UNEQ-P, loss of signal or loss of frame under user or
program control
MISC
# Optimized for ease of use:
* Front panel LCD control for standalone operation
* Powerful TCL script library enables automated remote testing
* Web based GUI for intuitive/interactive remote control
# Allows remote monitoring and control via Ethernet
# User configurations can be saved and restored
# Includes rack-mounting hardware
# SONET/SDH standards compliant including Telcordia GR-253 and ITU-T G.707
