DG - SONET/SDH & G.709 Signal Delay
The DG Signal Delay Emulator is an ideal solution for WAN simulation.
This product simulates the SONET/SDH and G.709 latency that occurs as
signals are transmitted across optical networks. It also allows controlled
error injection and simulates loss of signal (LOS) and loss of frame (LOF)
conditions.
DG latency and impairment functionality comes in the following versions:
* DG312 - OC3/STM1 and OC12/STM4
* DG48 - OC48/STM16
* OTU1 - G.709 OTU2
Each of these versions can be delivered in an M Series or H Series System
as an MSDG-B or HSDG-B (bi-directional) Delay Emulator. DG capability
can also be combined with other Anue WAN simulation solutions (such as
SONET/SDH Path Layer Delay, Gigabit Ethernet or Fibre Channel delay) to
create multi-protocol "Combo" systems.

Product Features
DELAY
# WAN simulation of SONET/SDH latency that occurs in optical networks
during transmission of OC-3/STM-1 (155 Mbit/s), OC-12/STM-4 (622 Mbit/s),
OC-48/STM-16 (2.488 Gbit/s) or OTU1 (2.666 Gbit/s) signals.
# Delayed signals are logically identical to original signals
* No modification of TOH, POH or Payload bytes
* No pointer movements are introduced
# Capable of inserting up to 250 ms delay (50,000 km) at OC48 rates, 1
sec delay at OC12 rates and 4 sec delay at OC-3 rates.1
BER
# Capable of injecting bit-errors from 10-12 to 10-2 error rates
* 1-bit, 32-bit contiguous or 32-bit user defined error pattern
* Error injection can be fixed or random; random distributions sequences
include Poisson, Uniform or Gaussian
# Simulates loss of signal, loss of frame and/or squelch mode under user
or program control
MISC
# Optimized for ease of use:
* Front panel LCD control for standalone operation
* Powerful TCL script library enables automated remote testing
* Web based GUI for intuitive/interactive remote control
# Allows remote monitoring and control via Ethernet
# User WAN simulation configurations can be saved and restored
# Includes rack-mounting hardware
# Cost effective alternative to test beds built from spools of fiber and
optical amplifiers
# SONET/SDH standards compliant including Telcordia GR-253 and ITU-T G.707
1 An optional "Delay Doubler" upgrade doubles the maximum delay
times.
