SAN ProbeV
Finisar has two types of SAN Probes that analyze SAN traffic,
create metrics, detect faults, and provide the data to the NetWisdom portal.
The hardware ProbeFC collects in-band packets from fibre channel links
for SAN traffic performance analysis and fault detection. The software
ProbeV collects out-of-band SNMP summary data from SAN switches for fabric
performance and fault detection.
The ProbeV software provides summary information about the health of one
or more SAN fabrics. The metrics are collected from SAN switches via SNMP
and contain faults and performance for every part of the switch. ProbeV
supports all vendor's 2Gbs fibre channel switches. The metrics are sent
to the NetWisdom Portal for reporting and further analysis.
